On my 69 Barracuda there is a side view mirror on the passenger side. I have not seen one before. I looked in factory sales brochure and cannot find any reference to one being available. My vent window hits it when opening, this doesn't seem right. Is this mirror factory installed, or did a side view mirror come on the passenger side of the 69 Barracudas at all?

I have the same mirror on my 67 dodge dart.
And my vent window touches as well.
I bet that you can't adjust it very well.

My 68 is factory with RH mirror and it hit too.

It's also useless. Can't see anything worth while out of it.

I had an all original 69 Barracuda I bought from the original owner in 83. The car was a fully loaded 318 car. It had the drivers mirror but no passenger mirror. This leads me to believe that they did not factory install mirrors on the passengers side. The 69 I have now has been tinkered with by the previous owner and I find that I cannot trust anything I find on the car. For instance having a drivers arm rest with an ash tray. This would be for the rear. Boy I would like to go back to that year to find out.

RH mirror was an option. It shows on the dealer literature and sales guide.

It shows on my 68 Barracuda's fender tag.

I know people at low speeds will sometimes extend the vent window all the was around to catch air. But It's called a vent window, not a catch window. If you turn it very much, the rubber at the bottom gets folded over.

I believe that is still the same style mirror in 75. No vents to deal with, but I added one on my Duster. Looking at sales brochure, duals only offered if 'sport' mirrors. A-body base is diff than E,C etc. So if not offered on older, newer... when were they ever available on a-bodies. I got an older mirror, but cant say 100% if it is factory -but I believe they were available. Can anyone say for sure they have one from factory? Dealer add?

Yes it's tough to position the nirror where it misses the vent window but is still usable.

It looks better with a mirror even if it doesn't work very well.

I think so too. An ex brother in law bought a new 68 sport fury Plymouth , back in the day. It had a remote on both sides from the factory, along w/ every option Chrysler had at the time. Even had 383 hi-po, 4 speed in it. And yes, it was pretty fast for a huge car !

I have a remote mirror for my Swinger If I want to install it. Bought it from Slantsixdan. It's from a export car. (right hand drive)

Ordered a '72 Demon from factory with passenger mirror. They were not the sport mirrors ( they cost extra) the passenger mirror also was not remotely operated.
Yote

I wonder if you will see anything with that. Mirror body is diff on L and R to for driver view angle. So did they reverse those angles for right side driver?

Yeah, LH and RH mirrors are different.
I just wish the RH one was remote control too. That's the one that really needs it to be!

That I don't know. I need to enlist the help of my son to hold it just about so to see if it will work.

That would be a long cable fed through the door into the pillar. Someone could design a bluetooth controlled electronic mirror module. LOL

This is what I was looking for. I have the factory brochure and it does not show and mention any side view on passenger side.

And for a 69 Barracuda the code would be G31 and it's a $6.85 option.

Should be on a 69 Barracuda fender tag like the remote mirror is.

It's coded on 68 Barracuda fender tags. Those tag have different coding than 69 up tags.

I looked at the orig. mirror on my form. S fastback, and didn`t see a right or left angle to it, I`m thinking a right would work for a left too, afterall the thinh is straight mounted and swivels for adjustment . The wing window deal would still be there, just not worth the trouble to me on a finished-painted car.

I snapped a picture last night. It works and I do use it.

They actually were passenger mirrors- driver can't see anything when installed as the factory did....

the right side mirror has always seemed more for looks than use. the sport mirror for 70-6 A bodies there is a unique right side mirror. th starnard mirror, the right and oeft is same if I remember correctly.
E bodies, the sport mirror is unique for the right side also.

Just to enlighten... There was a right hand remote control mirror too. It was used on the right hand drive builds. It had the same shallow bowl as our left hand mirror too. That one is the rarest of them all.
I used the guts from one of those to build a custom long cable right door remote mirror. Parts from three different mirrors were used to build the one.
