howdy my plan is to install the 360 from my 1985 prospector and tranny into my 1968 2dr post dart, car had slant six motor tranny combo,so first i know i need to swap oil pan and pickup tube, are all small blocks the same 273-360 as far as oil pans and pickup tubes, will my 727 go right in?

LA 273 318 340 Pans are the same.360 pans are different.I believe the car oil pickups are the same.Tranny should bolt right in.

need adapting motor mounts (or change K-frame), different radiator, and a 360 car oil pan and pick up tube. Your tranny coming from a truck would probably be a 727, so your drive shaft will be too long. Have it shortened, or get a different one.

They made 2 different oil pick ups and pans for the 360 cars and not interchangable. I'll get you the info

360 car pan (876) has a different offset stock center sump pick up than the 392 pan. The 876 sump is only 2" from the front of the pan and the 392 is 4" back. The 876 pan requires the 72-S4 pick up which was special order. The standard pick up is the 72-S2 for the pans with the sump 4" from the front. The 876 is only 2" from the front.

I need to remember this @Sedanman , thank you

I found out the hard way and tried to use the wrong pick up with the pan I had and had to special order it. Those are Melling part #'s
