easiest way? Anybody did that? To have clearance for 29inch tires.

I was thinking of drilling a hole into the perch and into the shockplate one inch behind the original hole for the leaf springs. So there is no need to move the leaf springs... what do you think?

1" is a long way. They do have front spring mount extensions. Try Mancini.

Yup , works great , however, the driveshaft is too short and the e-brake cables won't fit on the retainers on the frame . I put 275/75-15,s on (28"tall) looks stupid . Like a 4x4 IMO

front spring Mount Extension would affect the rear spring shackle angle as well... And that i can't Change on my (!) car.
Brakes are no Problem. I have Ford disc Brakes :) the drive shaft is in deed a Problem. can i pull the slip yoke at least 40 -50% out? or would it be too risky because of the engine torque?

I moved the rear end back 1" on my 69 Dart. I put Calvert mono leafs on with the caltrac bar setup. When I ordered the springs I had the locating pin moved back the one inch after talking with them. I was told that spacing the front hanger back will upset the rear shackle geometry and that will have to be changed also. My car is mini tubbed and I did test fit a 29.5 10.5w and didn't have any clearance issues. I'll try to attach a couple pics with the 29.5's.

well, i don't wanna buy mono leafs just because of an Offset hole :)

anyway, did you change your drive shaft?

Thanks anyway for the Pictures!!

I went from a 904 to a 727 and a 7.25 to a 8.75 so, I had a new driveshaft made. I probably could've had the old one shortened but decided to just get a new one.

Yeah everything was good height wise and width. Had about a 1/2" clearance to spring and wheel lip width wise. When the car was mini tubbed the stock wheel housings were split and moved in.

I did the drilling a new hole in the spring mounting perch, drilled it 1 inch forward of the stock hole, to move the rear back. Worked ok, but screwed up the pinion angle, due to the rear springs being an arc. Had to reset the pinion angle. If you do this, check pinion angle before doing anything, then use wedges to correct.

If you drill the hole 1" behind the existing hole, you move the axle forward.

You can do it that way, among other methods discussed. I use spacer plates between the front mount and frame.

Rear shackle angle is going in the correct direction moving the spring rearward. It can get too far angled, usually not an issue.

Did you go with the stock ride-height springs, or -1"?

I think the stock gas tank won't fit anymore, and the shock bushings are gonna take a beating.

Wouldn't cutting the mud collectors off, in front of the wheels, provide enough room?and be the cheapest easiest solution, coupled with a 1/4 inch perch spacer?I think there was a how-to thread on FABO here a few months ago. I mean it's just a little piece of sheet metal. If that's all it takes, Bam!

Have you ever tried drilling a hole in a spring? Buy a box of bits. And use a drill press. Be sure to chamfer the holes.

Thats what I did. 1/2 inch

really? It is not an issue in geometry? Because this would be the easiest way at all rathe than drillin a hole in the perch and

the tires will rub on the quarters. See the Pictures provided here.
Yes, i do think about the Shocks. But it seems to work for others here pretty well.
And yes, i did already drill a hole in a leaf spring. Just in one layer and that was in deed an experience hahahaha...

Here is one way to move the axle back
(Might not be the best way)

There is a lot to think about, but moving back an inch is not going to make it hook better, it will be worse. Dart already has a longer wheelbase, another inch makes it longer still.
