Ok, so I have some time on my hands and the car has been sitting for a few years with no changes. Not that I'm bored, but I was thinking maybe to paint the wheels black. Not sure If I would go with gloss or flat just yet.

Wondering what you guys think would work better considering the car is YELLOW, maybe the black wheels would balance it out a bit.

HELL NO!!!!!! they look great body color.. would look stupid black..

you want to change it up some buy a set of period correct wheels for it..

sure, paint the wheels black
and while your at it, take a sledgehammer to the front windshield
maybe run your keys up and down the paint a few times
swing by the local sonic and order a few slushies...then throw those at random on the upholstery
oh, and slash the tires

or, dont paint the tires, and dont ruin the gorgeous car you have

They do look super nice now, but Mopars with black wheels look tough as well, a little more 'muscle' and a little less 'granny'.. if it's at all possible you might try to find a black junkyard wheel to mock up just to see if you will like it before making the change.. That said I would have them powder coated rather than paint them, much tougher coating and will last much longer. Out here in everything's-more-expensive-CA I had a pair of steelies powder coated about 6 months ago they charged me 40 bucks a piece

It's yellow? Looks copper in the picture..

I need you guys to be more clear, so, dont paint the wheels black is what I think you guys may be leaning towards?

Toolmanmike....From the information I have its Paint code is 99. Butterscotch/Bahama yellow.

Beanhead, thats a great suggestion. I can always plastidip one or all and just remove if its not appealing.

Yep, that last pic of the RR is what got me thinking to paint the wheels. Same body color as my Dart. I think it pulls the combo off quite well.

That a12 car looks cool but because your wheels are a perfect paint match with the body I would buy new wheels if you decide to switch. Don't mess up what you have.

^^^^^^^ this x2.

If your going black, get different rims /tires of your liking.
Can always go back or during sale.

Going to take the advice and look for another set of wheels. Just want to change it up a little. I would never deviate from stock with this car, I like it too much the way it is. Like I said, its going to be winter soon in Florida and that means its time to cruise!!

Be careful, someone might call you a "purist"

if ya paint black ya need the dog dishes too... my 2 cents... but I like the idea of 2 sets and keep the colour matching.... Kool car man !!!

Nella's car with black painted rims and dog dish! I like the look, but she liked the Rallyes so I have a set to redo and go back on! These are 14x5.5" Maybe it's because the car is a dark color that makes them look so good?

Here's a 66 car I built up with extra parts! I had a set of 14x4.5", so I painted them black and threw them on there! I think they look pretty good!!
