I have a dilemma. I have a 67 notchback barracuda. It was a slanty. Now will be a 408-410 4 speed with 373 gears. I am dressing down the engine with a black painted low restriction air cleaner like a commando one, painted 69 318 valve covers, and 68 340 exhaust manifolds. Car will be a total sleeper. Body colored 15" steeies and dog dish caps. I was wanting to put the callouts in the stock locations on the front fenders just above the lower body line.

Oh i didnt know that, dont know if that was standard on barracuda w 273 2 bbl or not. I have only seen en blank or with the commando emblem, so thats what i got and used in my poll

I put the stock v8 badging in the stock location and the 273 4V badging in place of the barracuda badge behind the headlight. Edit, but mine is a 273 4V

I know they can. I have seen em used on center caps for mag wheels too. For me stock location rt side only.

Cleaner without them and no chance of rust in the holes.

My old dart with everything deleted and shaved.

I have some super strong magnetic strip material. I may concider removing the studs and epoxy it to the backs of the emblems. No holes for rust, and i can change em out at will.

Threw in my poll vote for the commando emblem. It will look classic and go with your air cleaner if you wanna pop the hood and show off.

If you do the cuda clean, it will be an attention magnet anyways, so the real sleeper factor will only come into play when you hammer the juice. Just my opinion.

Got details on that 408? Sound sweet. Did you do it yourself? Pics?

I like it.

Depending on how good your magnets are, you may consider gluing a piece of thin fabric/felt/paper to the back of your emblems so that they can be attached/removed/adjusted without scratching up your paint. You can trace the emblems and use an exacto to make the felt or whatever just right.

My BMW MC40 came with full door panel numbers that were magnets. It works.

I dont have the 408 built. I have a 360 block, and a set of new eagle rods. Been looking at cranks. Prob scat forged crank. I may just order a stroker kit if its cheaper than piecing it out, and put the rods back up for sale.

I think they all look good. Its why i cant decide. The commando ones are very regal and stately looking. Almost saying quietly yes if you wish to read my badging, i am a commando V8. and the 273 4 barrel ones are kinda bold and loud almost announcing I AM A 273 4 BARREL want to play. The no badges just say i'm being sneaky, try n guess what i am.
