I put a new tank and sending unit in my car and the wire has been cut that goes to sending unit. my question, is does the wire have a molded end on it and push on or is it just held on with a electric fitting with hole in it and a nut threaded on the stud? if it is a molded wire, does any one have that wire for sale?

It was probably molded 90*
You can put a flat connection and use a nut.
The connection doesn't matter unless your going concours

so does that mean that it "was" a molded piece and pushed on? I already know I can put it on with a nut, but I would like to put it back the way it came factory, if possible!

You can usually get those molded 90* push on replacement wire assys, from the help section of Advance Auto, or any good auto parts store. If not Rock Auto has them look under your car, and electrical, and connectors. They come with about 6-7 in wire. Make sure you solder the slice, and insulate it good.
