67 barracuda notchback restoration

Also turbo props are a lot more fuel efficient than jets. Which are essentially a ducted prop lol

So i have a SAAB funny for you. One week at work am removing a seat track beam for replacement because after removal of corrosion it was out of limits. It looked to be OEM installed at the factory. The tracks are all pinned in place with JoBolts and solid rivets. The JoBolts are normally a machinest #8 drill size .199"

As i'm drilling out the JoBolts on the side web of the track, i come across one 1/4" or .250" JoBolt where #8 ones should be, along with an arrow pointing to it and the words

"AOOUUUUUU VARG NISSE".

i laughed because it was obviously a factory mess up when the hole was drilled, so it was oversized to the next largest fastner. Before i scrapped the seat track i pulled out, i cut out that section with those words on it and put it in my tool box.

Years later a SAAB engineer and assembly line mechanic were at our facility to help with a complete vertical stabilizer replacement due to severe hail damage. I go up to these 2 guys with that seat track piece i kept in my tool box about 7 years by this time and ask them what the words meant. They both started to laugh. I said ok let me in on the joke. They told me that if somebody messed up a hole while drilling on the assembly line in Linkoping everybody else would howl like a wolf. That was obviously the AOOUUUUU. VARG was wolf in Swedish, and NISSE was the guys name.

The mystery was finally solved, to me at least. They had a sense of humor on the assembly line.
