Oil filter stuck on 318.

Sears sells a set of long chisels, using the air chisel will do it too if it is a short-stroke hammer, they're more progressive/control-able. Just concentrate on the outside ring of
the base, if You get it to move keep workin' it around, if You split it there it should loosen up &/or You might get the edge to fold up & use a drift/punch on it.
After almost 33yrs. of fixin junk professionally, I still can't understand why some think installing oil filters is a test of their manhood, ....drainplugs too..........
