Good evening

I'm French and I have a Plymouth Duster of 73 (slant six)
which I imported from the United States in 2015
the passenger panels and the driver were in poor condition
So I changed everything when I received it and I repainted the interior, I changed it
seats and some engine parts.

The car rode very well, but a few months ago, I had an electrical problem, and I got the help of a FABO member to solve it!
Thanks 65 Dartman for the time spent helping me in our publications.

given the state of the harness and the firewall connectors, I decided to redo all the electricity
I ordered a few pieces for this

I would show you the steps of restoring the electrical part
and I would definitely need your help for the connections that may cause me a problem.

The next step!!!

If some of you have already done this type of work, I would like information on how to plug
ballast resistor, voltage regulator, ignition control module

Lots of great metal work there!!!

It may be better to post your questions in the electrical section. Very knowledgeable folks always in that area!

some news

after decrypting the wiring instructions
I started the installation of the harness
I have separated the cables entering the engine compartment
those of the front headlights (to make them pass through the wing flange)

I set up the new instruments on board in the old dashboard

not easy to break it !!!

but I arrived, after sticking together, I painted
and install and connect the gauge lights

Are you routing the Headlight and turn signal wires behind the inner fender to hide them?

Nice work on the gauges and panel! They look great lit!

I have not forgot about the Headlight reminder we were talking about or the chime reminder! I have got sidetracked on the sheet metal brake I am building for the floors for the 47 (and cannot find the extra chime box I know I have!)

Very nice work so far. I like the color combination too, i especially like the custom made seat frame, i want to duplicate that in a 69 barracuda i have. Can you post some more pictures of that, and answer some of my questions on that?

Is the frame you made bolted down to where it doesnt move, and just the bucket seats move on their individual tracks? I ask this because i see a custom console mounted to it as well.

Do you have more close up pictures of the center console you made? How did you construct the console? Do you have other pictures of its construction?

Thank you
I will look if I have other pictures of siege frame.
but if you have any questions, I would answer

the frame is bolted to the floor
and the seats are on individual tracks

I did not take pictures when building the center console :(
but as I disassembled everything for the installation of the new beam
I can make images of its structure

Thank you. That will be helpful. I have a 69 barracuda. Half stripped ex drag race car. No seats, previous owner removed the bucket seats, and cut console brackets out. I will be installing new floor sheetmetal, and a aftermarket shifter. I have bucket seat tracks, but If i cannot find factory seats, i will probably go this direction. I have a set of 1988 dodge daytona shelby buckets that can work with a frame similar to the one you made, or i can junkyard hunt for some buckets that are newer. The seat frame is a very good idea. I did something similar on a 1960 chevrolet, but the whole frame moved on bench seat tracks, with chrysler lebaron bucket seats mounted on it.

Are you going to eventually put a V8 in your duster? Are there sources for MoPar V8s in France?

I leave the slant six
in france one can not change engine like ca, it is illegal the assurances do not work if it happens an accident ... :(

Thats awful you cannot put a different size engine. The duster is sexy looking, it needs MORE POWER lol. Can you modify the existing size engine? Bigger bore, longer stroke? Hotter camshaft? Fuel injection? Turbo? Supercharger? Lots of people on fabo souping up the slant 6. It can be made as powerful as a V8. Are you allowed to replace the engine, if you are putting one of the same kind back in?

And yes it is a pity

if we am the French legislation ...we do little nothing changed on our cars ..

After if there is an engine and all plates builders who go with..... there is possibility to do a tour of magic !!!! :)

So if you needed to rebuild the engine to a larger bore , the law does not restrict this. And if the block and or the head were shaved to increase the compression (and the power), I would bet that would be OK as the law could not tell from looking at the outside of the motor.

I decked my block 90 thou and shaved the head 10 giving me an estimated 10 to 1 compression ratio with an estimated horsepower of near 200 - of course the new cam, 4 barrel carb an headers all contributed to that. Looking at my motor it is a stock looking 65 225 with add-in’s - the headers and carb/intake.

Yes, if it is not visible. even if it is always risky if there is an accident...

the insurances will go to see if everything is ok

IMHO, Sounds too "big brother" to me. The government and the unsurance companies really have no business getting under the hood of your car. My 67 barracuda was a 225 /6. Will be 408 small block V8.

But i guess you have to deal with the motor laws you have in your country. Hopefully the US DOT and EPA dont get wind of this and try it here.
