Nothing to laugh about

I just got done reading an article from one of the most reknown crime researchers in the world from Yale University. I was shocked at some of the data he referenced in his article and had to pass this on.

In regards to Mass Shootings and the number of them and the frequency, the US ranks 11th in the world in the number of mass shootings and 12th in frequency. Behind Norway, Switzerland, France, Finland Belgium and several other EU countries.

and the US isn't even in the top half of countries in terms of the overall Homicide rate nor in the top half for countries in firearm connected deaths or injuries. Again, most of the EU is higher than the US.

Per Dr. John Lott, Professor and crime researcher, Yale University.

Did not read the links yet but always question statistics. The definition of a mass shooting that the FBI uses is 5 people shot in one incident. That means a lot of gang activity and idiots are registered as mass shootings. Dr. Lott is indeed the most famous man in the CJ world at this time but I am interested to read these articles later and see what he is using to define mass shooting.
