Nothing to laugh about

to think this scenario out - to contemplate what it would have taken to make this happen.. I sure hope it proves to be false.

I saw several news stories stating that the a-hole fired through the hotel room door injuring a hotel security guard prior to the police blasting the door. At which time they found the scumbag coward dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. Very doubtful anyone was else in the room. Also, those casinos have incredibly thorough surveillance systems. If anyone else entered or left that room, they'd know it. While it makes for great drama, it sure appears this POS was alone in the room.

The whole thing just makes me sick. The deaths, the injuries, the ruined families, the politicizing of it. Seems many folks in our country are more interested in their political agendas and "party line" than actual humanity, camaraderie, compromise and compassion. With neither side willing to even entertain the other's ideas and thoughts on what makes sense regarding guns laws, enforcement, training (Or anything else for that matter.) I fear we'll continue to see more of this sort of carnage.

Apparently I am an anomaly in that I'm and avid hunter, target shooter, plinker, skeet shooter, reloader and CCW permit holder. Was a NRA member decades ago, but no longer am. Got my first gun (Old single shot 12 gauge at the age of 9), have voted for both parties over the years given the choices' message and stance on what's important to me. But have probably leaned a little left of center in recent years. Perhaps the addition of my beautiful twin daughters got me looking at things a bit differently...who knows.

Go ahead..start flaming me folks. I'm a big boy LOL! But let's not forget that while we engage in our tough talk, there are 59 families that can't say goodnight to a loved one this evening. And 500+ families that are struggling to deal with and comprehend what happened to their loved ones. All the the pro/anti gun crap and liberal verse conservative nonsense isn't gonna do a damn thing to undo the tragedy.

Be well folks,
Pat
