Cinnamon 75 Duster \

Took it for a ride today. Seats are nice. About 40 miles total. Mostly winding backroads, rides nice through the curves at 40 or so. Got on a short stretch of the highway for the first time. Had it between 55 and 65 for several miles. Ran great, but seems louder than what I expected (or remember)from a stock slant. Still think I (or someone)can improve the tuning and maybe the shifting. I did have a problem with the fuel fill. Gauge showed empty. Nozzle clicked off at just under 10 gal. :wtf: I tried to add a little more thinking it was not actually done and some ran down the side. So need to figure out if it just filled too fast for it to vent, bad gauge, ?... The gauge does respond and brought needle back up to where I would expect it to be for 10 gal, but maybe float is not sitting at bottom to start.

I think the 'Gift Right Way' show is next week (Dairyland Square/Jerry's). Probably show it there.
Well that ain't gonna work. :( Just found out that show has been cancelled.
Also while searching online for other upcoming shows (and not finding much) I found there were 2 other shows within 5 miles yesterday I hadn't heard about. :BangHead: You would think they would coordinate better so not all at the same time, then hardly anything for rest of the year.

There is a local one up here on the 3rd if you want to go, cam prob get the pop there also.

Weird it is louder, did you take any of the floor padding up when you changed the carpet?

That whole mess got trashed to fix the Flinstone floors. LOL New carpet has attached padding like original. Firewall insulated similar to original also.

stupid question the new exhaust go straight out or is it turned down like the oem, had that on the pop with the six when I changed it ended up putting a turn down tip on it and it was then fine.

where is it coming from you did a stock exhaust right?
Yes stock exhaust. Not brand new, so I am wondering if that's my problem. Especially the cat. I have the pipes from Mitch. That would get the cat out of there. Those are slightly different. Think they are correct for 111" cars, (Duster 108). And the muffler is a few inches longer as well. Looks like that would be too close to the axle.

Bring it all up and we can mock it up on the lift if you want. And look over the tune, hell put the dist on the machine also see what it is set to also only takes a few minutes if you want.

I am thinking it's the muffler, and dose the tail pipe have a 45 degree turn down , it helps with a drone sound to turn it down believe it or not

With the seat done, it now qualifies for 'antique' insurance, MUCH cheaper than what it was. And, it sounds like it would actually pay more in a collision. While my agent was here taking pics, he asked how it runs. Tried to start it and battery was dead. :BangHead: He had a little jump start box. That started it right up. I tried to charge the battery and decided it was a goner - a couple days before a show I wanted to take it to :BangHead:...but got that problem resolved.

Made it to the show last Friday at Shrewsbury Markets. This is a once a month show not far from me. It was my first time there. I was told this was probably the biggest turnout they have had. Hundreds of cars.

Did another show Sept 23rd. Pulled off to the side afterward and took these pics.

So what was it like sitting with your car? I can imagine it felt great. And I hope you didn't run into any know it all jackasses....
All good, both shows. The slant gets more interest than the car itself. Nothing negative. Had one guy walked around with his ?wife - stopping every couple feet looking at every detail. Took at least 5 minutes. Didn't hear a word out of him. LOL

NICE!!
I'm already trying to thicken my skin when I go for the first time. (If I ever get her roadworthy!)

Keith, glad to hear you are out showing off the car. If you ever need info on local shows let me know. Dad goes to at least 3 shows a week here. He always knows where they are at. The Shrewsbury shows draws cars from all over. It usually has 400-500 cars and is every 3rd Friday night of the month. Probably the biggest one around. Your car should get lots of attention. Great looking car! Enjoy all your hard work!

I have watched your thread from the start. I love the direction you took your car. I know you must be so happy!

I'm all ears for 'constructive criticism'. But if somebody just likes to hear their self yap...I'm pretty good at blocking out stupidity, drama, etc.

I don't plan to get too crazy with it. Maybe one a month... I had never been to the one at Shrewsbury, even as a spectator. Someone said it was one of the biggest turnouts he had ever seen there. Hard to count since a lot don't register and cars were coming and going the whole time. In addition to the lot, almost the entire grass area was filled. Won't be able to do that one again anytime soon. Started a new job about a month ago. Been training on first shift, but going to second shift next week.

Bring it up we can throw it on the scope.

I plan to take you up on that offer. Might be spring till I can make it happen with being back to work and stuff. No more shows planned. :(Hope to get a few more short drives in, but probably not doing much else with her before Winter.
