jas0162, thanks for the quick response, I have a couple good local transmission shops I know and perhaps I can work a swap for a rebuilt 518.
Take a look at my wife's 1955 plymouth wagon we finished a couple years ago: Plymouth BA/GT Hopefully the truck will eventually be as nice as the wagon.

Nice wagon, and a good project on the truck.
Remember that the A500 is normally used in trucks with a 5k towing capacity, but that said I also think the 518 would be a better choice for a truck for towing.
There are guys on here that would love to get their hands on an A500 for their car.
