On my Dart 1975 I had to change the ignition coil in August 2015. Now two years and not even 3000 miles later, again, the damn coil was faulty. This time I bought the most expensive available at Rockauto hoping it will be more durable. But I wonder what you think of that, if I changed two, it's just bad luck or if I should check out other components which explain this. Thank you for your help and advice.

With zero details, it's impossible to tell. Stock electronic ignition? Are you running the correct ballast resistor?

Yes stock electronic ignition and correct four prongs ballast resistor.

Make sure the ignition box is grounded GOOD. Often times, rust and crappola will cause the ground to be disrupted. The body of the box should have a clean, metal to metal ground wherever it is mounted. Some people even run an extra wire from a mounting screw to the inner fender or firewall, though not necessary as long as the box itself is grounded good.

Already done. I saw this advice here on the forum last week. So took my drill and a wire brush, cleaned both the ECU box and the inner fender, added a star washer between.

If you are using a oil filled coil in the horizontal position install it vertical. You may have a bubble in the oil causing a hot spot in the coil winding.

when I moved to Louisianan the roads where a litle rougher than when I lived in New Hampshire, coil went out about one month after the move. seems like an internal wire broke. went with a Mopar off-road coil and no issues. Since moving to Arkansas, switched to a FABO ECU and coil, no issues with that set up but roads are smoother also.

The coil was always in vertical position. It's the original bracket, original location.
