Extrusion honing/porting

I stumbled across this on youtube. Its a way to hone/debur the inside of castings with an abrasive fluid. Trippy. looks like it works though.

 
Extrude honing. A slight advantage but not for the price from what I've seen.340 manifolds. Smoother but not much bigger.

  • Had an extra set of BB HP manifolds extrude honed 8 years ago by a friend in SoCal whose company had just purchased machinery recently. Still running them on the GTX. They were done as a favor for free but wouldn't pay to have them done unless I was racing in Stock class and had to retain original manifolds.

It's NOT CHEAP. Doesn't , that tell you enough?,
List a,separate thread,with your build thoughts, your intended combination, and your budget....Let's....start there.

That doesn't tell me anything. If saving money was my only motivation... I would've sold my barracuda 25 years ago.

I get where you are going,don't take it the wrong way. In the early 5.0 Mustang days,it was the only smog legal way... If it has become more cost productive, more power go you...

I'm cool, I didn't take it the wrong way.

I don't have any vices (don't smoke, don't drink, don't gamble) but I spend plenty of money (sometimes unnecessarily) on my barracuda.

I've always wanted to get my intake and exhaust manifold extrude honed... I figure it can't hurt.

I paid about $500 to have mine done, but that was for an application where headers weren't legal.
