Limerick Transmission - WARNING

Are you thinking that damage occurred during an install? I'd have to disagree, respectfully. It looks like shock damage to me..... I haven't seen that kind of thing before,so.......Jus my opinion.
Plus I don't work on Fords, ptoui,.......much.
My impression is that yes, someone tried to mount the trans up w/o the converter engaged in the pump gear, the marks on the face of the pump gear are 180 deg apart
& not consistent with a material failure of the gear. As I stated in another thread diy posted that in, a couple of guys that hung w/Us did the same to a 340 'cuda 727, and
actually ran it for a short time(making all kinds of noise!). One of them admitted having trouble getting the trans to "go on the pins" all the way,LOL, I asked " did You
have any trouble getting it off?". "No". Now add to this the Ford has studs on the converter to line up in the flexplate as You install the damn thing & I can see this done
by an amateur easily. As said in the other thread, it's been said a bazillion times, if the trans won't go well over the pins/sleeves by hand.....never use the bolts to "draw
it in"........somethings not right.................
