Looking to improve your Mopar’s response time and handling? Mopars with manual steering of the 1960’s and early 70’s came with a 24:1 steering box ratio which resulted in 5 turns from lock to lock. PST’s new production Mopar manual box has a ratio of 16:1 or 3.5 turns from lock to lock which provides quicker response in and out of turns. Plus for those that track their car, gain weight savings and horse power by eliminating the weight of the power steering box and pump from the front of the car. This ends up helping with quicker weight transfer to the rear wheels and more horse power from eliminating the drag of the pump on the engine. PST’s manual 16:1 Mopar box is available for A, B, and E body Mopars like the Dart, Valiant, Charger, Barracuda Coronet and Roadrunner. Call 1-800-247-2288 or visit www.p-s-t.com or here is a quick easy link.

Manual Steering Box 16:1

What will it take to bolt it up? Will it work with all my stock parts?

This is a direct bolt in for a car that has manual steering. If you have power steering and want to convert over you will need to get a coupler as the power steering column is shorter than the manual column.

Thanks

can you clarify, it looks like this is fits 67 and newer A bodies? Will it fit my 65 dart?
thanks!

We have it fitting starting in 67 as we based our fitment off vehicles we have fitted them to as well as our factory parts books. But have sold this to a customer with a 65 and he claimed it fit.

Thanks
James

I have that box on my '64 Dart right now and it works flawlessly. I could see no external difference in it and the stock box it replaced! I'm very happy with it!

The steering is a bit heavy at low speeds, but I love the quicker ratio, and makes for a much sportier handling car.

My dart may LOOK like a pile, but thanks to PST, it sure doesn't drive like one! Torsion bars, poly bushings, drop spindles, disc brake conversion, shocks and the steering box are all from PST! Combined with my Hellwig sway bars, Conti tires, and USCT Stage 2 stiffening kit, it sure handles like a pro!

I hope in the future to upgrade to Bilstiens dampeners, rear disc conversion and better leaf springs! And PST will be who I call!!!
