I see none installed on my '68 barracuda conv. - 383, 4spd, 489 8 3/4..read some pro's/con's - how critical/useful to have one on in this car? cruiser/no serious racing car..

On a cruiser? I would say not necessary.
I do not have one on my 68/383/4 speed car.

thanks - yes, got sure-grip and may get on it occasionally but don't think I'm in axle-wrapping mode...we'll see. they are probably more trouble than they are worth.

Most street tires don't have enough traction to ever need one. They break loose and spin long before the axle winds up that much.

Ihave one on both my 67 & 68, just for to have it their. All the do is rattle, when you go over mild bumps, and seems in the road, kind of a rattle/klinking sound.

When I had one on my car, it was adjustable and I wrapped tape around the small end and then assembled it and installed. No rattles.

IMO the plain stock pinion snubber can't hurt and in case you did have some big axle wind-up at least it would be there to stop it instead of breaking something.

It may help protect from bottoming out the yoke on those back roads with small roller coaster hills at 50 mph and your rear seats have the family in them.

anyone got an example of factory one for '68 for barracuda?..seems to be a variety - believe I need 2 bolt version..keeping it simple I suppose..
