I plan on using my 318 two-barrel Carter BBD carb on my 340 during break-in, but would like to sport the 340 air cleaner at the same time. Are adapters available to mix the two parts? I have a ThermoQuad for later. Thank you. P.S. No, I am not going to run 2 two-barrels.

Why are you using a 2 barrel for break in?
Are you using a adapter for the intake?

I have been using a new (NOS) Carter BBD (see carb on right in foto) on the current 318 I found on Ebay last year and I know it works well. The '72 Thermoquad I have for later is in an unknown condition and certainly needs a rebuild. After the new motor is broken in, I will go with the '72 factory dual plain intake manifold and the TQ.

Swapping to a four barrel before i am ready will also raise issues with the 904 kickdown linkage, right now it shifts to perfection and I don't want problems with shifts and an unknown carburetor during my break-in period which may be extensive. Besides, my road trips are nearly 5,000 miles each year (and the two-barrel could possibly save me some gas money).

It seems everything is plastic and reviews report cracking, deforming, melting, etc. I guess I will have one made (metal, aluminum). Thanks anyway.
You would think with all the bad reviews at least one person would step up to the plate and market a simple metal "copy" of the plastic item. Weird world we are living in, walk on the moon in 1969 and now, in 2017, nothing on the market but communist made junk.

At least that moon landing was still filmed in America

Probably not very many people out there that want to run a 4bbl air cleaner on a 2bbl. So I really don’t think it would be worth anyone’s time and effort to make such a piece.
I’m sure the plastic one will last long enough to do your break in.
