After looking around I see that 5X100mm is almost the same as 5 X 4 bolt pattern. So will these wheels fit my car.

4”=101.6mm

Can you jam them on there and run the lug nuts down? Probably.

Will it deform the lug studs when you do it? Yup. Will that weaken the studs and make a failure more likely? Yup.

How’s the saying go? Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

It is really close. I could see a little machining to the right wheel and an oversized nut making it work.

Oh sure, I mean, you could modify a set of 5x100mm wheels and come up with a solution to make sure they were centered and not side loading the studs. It’s not a big difference and it wouldn’t take much, but you’d still have to do something to make sure everything was centered and no side loading was occurring.

But that’s not usually what people are talking about. They just want to bolt on a set of 5x100mm wheels because there’s actually decent wheel selection in that size, not because they’re looking to modify a set of wheels.

I dunno. You’re already running around on 50+ year old wheel studs that are only 7/16”. Personally, if I was going to spend much energy or money on it I would be upgrading to 5x4.5” and later brakes anyway.

Damit. I really want to run neon rims on my barracuda.

I have seen small bolt rally wheels on neons here and one buddy had a set on his car. I don't know if any mods were needed but they were on there.

There probably wasn’t, it just pulls the studs over when you tighten them down. People do it, doesn’t make it right.

Truthfully, if the width/offset/backspacing were a match for You, a machine shop could easily tweak the tapered seats out a toochie....and it would be easy to make sure the
stud doesn't interfere with the wheel. They would basically be moving all of the seats out 1/32", it shouldn't "sink" the seats more than that to establish the new one. But
machine shop time is $$$, so unless You know one or are one,.....................................
