So where has everyone been getting factory style NEW REPLACEMENT radiators for their restorations these days...

I would like to have my original re-cored, but finding shops that actually still do this is very hard to find in my area...

Any info would help!

TIA!

I too have a 68 GTS 4 speed. Mine has factory air so I used a 4 core. Got mine from Classic Industries. Worked out well. I'm out of town but i can take a few pictures this weekend and post if you would like.

I wondered how nice the ones Classic Industries had are. Would love to see pictures when you get back in town.

Holy sheep **** batman! I'm thinking $400-$500 when some one says pricey. $895-$1195 for a radiator? Guess "well worth it" is subjective. Got my O'reilly special lookin' real good!

I'll post some pictures this weekend when I get back east. Gotta go west for the big $$$ to keep the MOPAR going.

What's it look like?
A black radiator. Top picture is all I have this minute:

You need to ask for recommendations of radiator shop in your area.

In LA it's about $450-550 to recore a brass radiator with a new high density fin count and row spacing 3 row core.

If you have the original radiator, I wouldn't even consider doing anything other than having it re-cored. It will work fine and look so much better than anything else you can get. I'm sure you can find someplace on the east coast within about a 5-6 hour drive from you (to drop it off and avoid shipping) where the work can be done. Try a Google search.

That's for a radiator with the correct part number. Recoring is less. Even a custom radiator can be less - mine was. It depends on the parts availability etc.

Keep asking around, check the yellow pages etc. Dick's Radiator in Pottstown will do 'em but that's a heck of haul. For the time and fuel you might as well send it to Glen-ray.

Tip. When you get it back, hunt down and use conventional antifreeze with inorganic inhibitors. The conventional antifreeze may not last as long as the new hybrid organic acid inhibitors but it starts protecting immediately. More important, it provides protection for the soldered copper.*

*Inhibitors that protect solder are phosphates and molybdates. Sometimes these will show on a label or data sheet. More often it will say "phosphate free" because that's what some of the newer cars require. So at least that's a clue its probably not the right stuff for a car with soldered copper.

I paid $200.00 for a new one at Advance Auto 5 years ago. It was a good match with the origional in my 1973 Cuda. The price has probably gone up but might see what they have.
