Going to paint my engine compartment and later on the whole car. Anyone ever use Summit Racing brand paint to paint a car? It is cheap and I am on a shoe string budget.

Tried their yellow single stage on a project. Yellow is tough for coverage anyway but their low VOC stuff requires a lot for decent coverage. Gloss was nice when cured. Ultimately we ended up recoating with base/clear.
If yellow, apply over a white sealer, not gray - will cover better.

Here is what I did on a shoe string budget. I bought two cans of FY1 base and two cans of clear from Automotive Touchup, https://www.automotivetouchup.com/
Color match was great and an easy job. I would not do this for the exterior but to get color in the engine compartment it was a great option. Before and after pics...

I thought of trying a quart of the Automotive touch up paint.

I was pretty happy with the color match. I used their rattle cans. Did the engine compartment for about $90.
I used this. I'm happy with it and it looks great. Price was right too
