Think of adding a Demon or twin scoops. Painting engine bay, hood, cowl, and A pillers. I know its mine do what you want.I generally like Mopar engine bays body color. But though this may look good doing in gloss black.

The factory color for the engine compartment would look best. I think Mopar guys take pride in that, since Ford, or, chevy don't do it. Just another thing to set us apart from the crowd. As for the scoop, it seems every A body has those twin scoops .The rest of the car doesn't say "Hot Rod". Scoops would only make it look goofy. It needs some wheels, and tires to give it some attitude.

I say scoops look awesome !!
So does two tone on hood, but I like body color in engine bay , but as you stated it's yours to do what you want .
Enjoy whatever you do !

Flat hoods are sexy & it is easier to see what you are working on in lighter colored engine bays.

Use the correct scoops for the year of your car. Keep engine bay body color.

...not a fan of scoops.stripes, high in the rear with big back tires and jewelry but for some reason i do like the twin scoops on '70 darts with factory ralley wheels.
It's a good thing everybody doesn't like the same things!

I agree engine bay car colour.
Even though I'm having thoughts of paint my engine bay black this winter. I either got to paint it black the colour it is now sunfire yellow future (years) colour hopefully lime green.

I like two tone flat black.
I'll doing that to my hood this winter.

I like painted engine compartment, but black is ok. Scoops look awesome. Please don't mini tub. You've done that before and said you never wanted to do it again. Just have some offset rims made. My .02

IMO ford, chevy style, flattish black engine compartments look really tacky. And gloss black would be too dark to work around, and show dirt and be very hard to keep clean looking.
Hood scoops, matte black hood looks fine to me, but it's your car.
FYI, the AAR/TA hood/top of fenders were matte black, but they taped off the top of the fender mounting flange so you had both the matte black front end with the hood closed, and the body colored engine compartment with the hood open. Kind of a best of both worlds.

I remember my first drive in a scoop car when I was 19ish...I had a 340 4sp 71 Demon with dual scoops and a Go-Wing.
It was an awesome feel to be looking over those scoops !

People don't like scoops:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:...pleaseeeee badass especially when they're functional..

I say : funtional scoops, black hood, body color engine bay, steelies with chrome lugs nuts rear, ( 8 inch wide), 5 inch Am Torq Thrusts up front!!!!!

Scoops on that year look good, not many others do. IMO.
However, I say no to engine compartment color other than body color.
Ive seen a lot of big money cars that just makes it look quick and dirty. FOIW.

Its all preference and priorities, Bob.

Engine bays should be BODY COLOR!!!..anything else is gay.......

Yes all in one person's tastes.

Mopar guys have a history of being all about ALL MOPAR, and black engine compartment screams GM. Sorta like using GM terms in conversation with Mopar guy, like "posi"...etc....screams GM.

NO doubt the majority of our A Bodies are not considered rare or really collectable per say..... most ( no not all), people that have a original 340 car tend to restore it back to original. With maybe the exception trying to add some HP to the internals of the engine.

A guy with a slant dart will usually change it over to V8 power, and maybe make changes to the car to suit his tastes..ie paint, interior, gauges, scoops, etc

We all have different view points and tastes and so be the hobby. All is good.
