73 duster doors - what's the difference?

There's a difference I know, and I pm'ed whitepunkonnitro and he quickly and kindly told me I could switch to 74 doors no problems.
Here's my problem: It started with one of my great ideas. In my haste to lighten the duster for drag racing I gutted the doors. Before I did I bought a set of 74 doors which in hindsight I should have gutted those as I don't remember if they were rusty on the inside or what but I believe I used one of the front right fenders from that same car and it had some Bondo in it and stuff.
Now I want stock working doors again, but still don't want brown doors in unknown condition as my originals are in excellent shape (externally). The 74 doors are deep in storage and ain't gettin dug out for a few weeks.
Ok finally the question!: can I take the inner workings from the 74 doors along with the inner skin cut to match where I cut the 73's and weld it back in? Or are the inner skins different and don't match? I guess when I finally have them side by side I'll know? But I was wondering if someone might know if this could work?I guess I just don't visualize the exact differences.

I know you're busy, but if you ever get a chance to snap a picture of the two exact pieces that are different LOL okay that was an oxymoron. Could you post some up to just kind of give me a visual clarification of what this difference is? Thank you again for your time


No problem grafting the 74 inner structure to the 73 shells.
 
The glass changed sometime in 74, it's the same size and shape but how it mounts to the regulator is different. At most I'd think regulator changed a little bit but the basic shell is pretty much the same.
 
Well actually I'll try and get back to this thread and post the pictures of the exact differences because I'll have both doors I think? It'll be a couple few weeks likely but I'll get back to it for sure.....
 
I believe the structures are the sme,73 window regulator mechanism is different. I put 73 regulators into 75 door shells with no problems
 
I did just get the 74 doors out and the mechanisms seem kind of the same but I think it's the vertical pole in the 74 doors might be a vertical track in the 73 doors? I have all the guts of the 73 doors I just don't have the actual metal structure peace I must have tossed that.

I'll gladly post pictures of whatever I end up doing with the doors whether I just clean up the brown ones (the74's) or whether I cut the guts out of them and put them in my 73 doors. But this is all accounted for an easy so it'll probably be the last thing I do before the car is back complete.

Yes but I think all the mounting holes are all there,cuz I put my 73 mechanism into a 75 door
 
Jpar I thought about this,and the way the windows attach to the regulators is different 73 glass,wont work with the early or later regulators, but you can swap all the internals into the doors
