Hmmmm I just pulled mine by removing the pin. As long as the linkage is unhooked can it do that? I thought the no start thing was in the NSS, I haven't had any issues with it.
The steering column has no effect on starting the engine if no linkage is attached to it. GM used a system though that was tied to the steering column.
