QA1 style stock replacement k member

-
I'm interested in purchasing one of these k frames. Can you PM me your contact info.
Thanks............

I did notice it was a year old, but wondered myself what happened and if any were ever sold. It looks like a quality piece and would be interested in purchasing one if they are available...

Do you use a jig to build them? I may be interested in one without mounts for my dart.

A shoot, didn’t realize the age of the thread..

I'm still around, i still have the fixture to build them. My wife and i had a baby last year so i just quit pushing this stuff. I made and sold 5 or 6 of these, there hasn't been any issues.

I prefer to build them without motor mounts but can make them with spool mounts. You have to use aftermarket strut rods though, or i can make those as well.

I had some interest from this thread when i posted it but guys wanted me to build them cheaper than the QA1 and i just can't do that, it's not worth my time. I believe this is a better piece and the price reflects that. Pm me if your interested.

I sent you a PM or I should say, (started a conversation), I haven't been on here in quite some time, I hope that means sent a PM...
Hope to hear from you, interested in purchasing a k frame..

Would anyone be interested in a nicer round tubular version of the QA1 stock replacement k member? I have built and fixtured one up. I don't have time to do this and have them in stock to ship. My thoughts are doing a few at a time and offering them up at a similar price point as the QA1. Everything would bolt right up other than stock strut rods. This would use an aftermarket strut rod like the QA1 strut rods. I have not completed the motor mounts yet but this would use the spool mounts so that guys could use the Schumacher mounts and put about any Mopar motor they want in the car. I have posted this on Facebook and seen a huge response. This would be 10 lbs lighter than stock. Just wondering what you guys here think about it?

Would this fit a 1974 Plymouth duster ??

The problem I encountered with the QA1 member is that they do not offer it beyond a 1972. I don’t believe it will work for my 73 Dart? Unless I’m wrong, the spool mount is what I need to install a V-8 in place of my slant six?
This is my first build with my son so I may be wrong but I am looking for one for a 73 A body to hook a 340 to a 727. Would this work? I hope to go aftermarket control arms with front disk brakes as well.

Wait.....I just had a brain fart!!!!!!!!?????????

If i am building the car from the ground up and swapping a S6 to V8 why does it matter what type of K member I use as long as the mounting points are for a V-8. Can I not just get the correct motor mounts to match the member when I build the 340 as long as the mounting points for the member are all the same? Now I’m really confused?? Can someone please shed some light on this for me???

Yeah, the qa1 just has the biscuit mounts vs the spool mounts. I think thats why they list it that way.

I have had my k members put on 69 cars up to 74 and haven't had any install calls, questions or issues. I haven't made an a body one with motor mounts yet though. I have the provisions on my fixture just haven't had any requests for them.

Special thanks to Jeremy, he fabricated this K-frame for my 71' Dart drag car and I'm very happy with it. He does exceptional work and is a real good guy to deal with....

have you made any for early a bodies? I have a 60 Valiant...

this is a great piece , how ever can it be modified to fit the early a body like 64 barracuda , there a few inches narrower . don't want spool mounts either .

Sorry guys, i keep forgetting to respond to this. I'm not really looking to build anymore at the moment. I had 20 hours into that one all said and done. I don't think people realize the about of work that goes into properly making a piece like this, even when your building it in a fixture. I'm currently modeling the whole thing in cad and trying to come up with some ways to make it quicker and easier to reduce the labor. I'll post up when I'm ready to start building them again.

Danny was a great customer to deal with on this last one posted above. With that said, i don't make much of anything on these when you consider 20 hours of time, gas for the welder, heating the shop, welding rod, shipping supplies, etc. Then, guys on here tell me i'm too expensive and should be making them cheaper than big corporations like qa1 because i have low overhead....

Thanks for all the compliments on my work, i do appreciate it. The real fun for me is just designing and coming up with this stuff.
