Agree. Talk about piling on. Some may want to do a little "research" here.
"Some" helpful replies lol. Be strong Tom and good luck in CA and moving forward.
Happy belated birthday too.

When I moved out to California last December. I left my three vehicles in the custody of my step daughter who promised me that she would look after them. Fast forward to last Wednesday. I called her and she told me "all three vehicles were stolen from her property". I do not believe she is telling me the truth. I think she forged my signature on the titles and sold these vehicles. I am heartbroken not knowing where my Duster is. My late wife bought me this vehicle and this car has a ton of meaning to me. I contacted the Sheriff in Johnston County NC and they took a report on all three vehicles. 2000 Ford F150 pickup, 2000 Hyundai Sonata, and 1973 Plymouth Duster. Now I guess I just have to wait until they investigate. If anyone out here has any information on where this vehicle may be. Please contact Detective Chris Adams at 919-989-5081. Or e mail at cadams@jcso.org. Thanks in advance.

:wtf: - that's the rottenest GD'ed thing...!!!! :elmer::elmer::elmer::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

If I see it here in So Cal, I will investigate. PM me the VIN. If you would.

Hey Tom, good to see you posting, although the content of the post is not what I would want to see!! Was the car back east?? Of course I'll keep an eye out for it!!

It keeps ringing in my head that I saw the car on Clist this year. It's mainly because of the year front end with those scoops. And if the numbers get close I thought it was somewhere in the 13-16k range. I am not that far from where the car was and will typically search out a few hundred miles from my area from time to time.....

Hope you find it. A simple call to State Police will be a quick way to see if the car is registered by someone else now and I am sure someone else has chimed in about doing this....

I thought I saw it on craigslist also. Same price range

I know the kind of world we live in, but I wonder if taking out an ad could work. I'm sure the police department would advise, probably not. Holly crap.

If the story played out that the title was forged and then sold the only one who has any chance of not being held accountable is the OP. From what I understand Courts won't get into a bunch of he said, she said stories about Titles and if proven there was forgery the OP would get his car back. It would then turn into a Civil matter between the step daughter and buyer which would could easily won but getting restitution is a whole different story.... Crappy story either way....

Man finds car 13 years later, but can't get it back

Hopefully it won't end something like this for the OP

That was until later that month, when they finally able to find a resolution (or loop hole, per se) within the justice system. They went and filed a new stolen car report with police. With a new report filed, that allowed police to reopen the case and get a search warrant for the car. Shortly after, Multnomah County sheriff’s deputies served the warrant and seized the car.

The next day, at the Multnomah County Sheriff’s impound lot, the Whites were finally able to see their beloved ‘Cuda for the first time in 13 years. “I’m elated,” said Jackie White. “Finally, the car’s not in his garage, it’ll be in ours. Where it belongs.”

The OP creates a fascinating thread on Thursday and responds twice that day but then vanishes. It’s not possible to see when he was last online so, unless he hasn’t been online for 3 days, perhaps the posts in the next two pages hold some merit?

Does the step daughter still have the titles? Why did the step daughter wait for the step dad to call to inform him the cars were stolen? How much time passed between the cars being stolen and the step daughter informing him the cars were stolen? Did the step daughter report the cars stolen to the police or did the step dad do that?

That makes 3 of us... the color and the 340 decal on the rear quarter caught my eye.

Did someone post a cl link to that car on this site ? I kinda remember something like that maybe but i'm not right sure . I vaguely remember thinking it looked like the op's car .

Could be.... I just looked at the pix yesterday and something made me think...."Hunh.... I've seen that color. car, and decaling before... maybe on CL". IIRC, it was in the first half of this year.
