Water is leaking around the bottom bolt that attaches the triangle shaped bracket that connects the alternator. -- What do You Guys use to seal it ?

RTV around the threads.

-- Does the water flow around the threads and/or between the threads and the head of the bolt (outside of the water pump) ?

Obviously. It's leaking. It is not supposed to. If that's what you're asking.

-- Where I'm coming from is sealing just the threads (post #2) wouldn't stop the leak. -- Are you saying use RTV on the total bolt ?

Sealing the threads will stop the leak. If it does not, you will have to tear the timing cover off and re-seal it. But seal the threads first.

Me again. I'm still confused. There's water in the pump cavity, and the threads are in the block. The threads do not extend thru the pump cavity. It seems to Me that water can leak out where the head of the bolt/bracket join onto the pump. -- Am I wrong somewhere ?

The hole the bolt screws into goes all the way through into the water jacket. Can you not simply read a recommendation and do it? It will fix your problem, unless the water pump and or timing cover gasket is compromised around the water pump inlet and outlet, which is very unlikely.

It's my mock up picture from last year. But I know the bolt you are talking about.

Mine leaks every time I tighten my ac belt

-- Yep !! -- :thankyou: --
To seal it, you will need to drain the coolant, take out that bolt, dry it off, put black rtv on the treads, put bolt back in , let it cure over night, and fill up the coolant. It wont leak. Like RRR said.

Thread seal tape (also known as PTFE tape or plumber's tape) is a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film for use in sealing pipe threads. The tape is sold cut to specific widths and wound on a spool, making it easy to wind around pipe threads.

Teflon sealant, not teflon tape. Its a thread sealant. So is locktite and anti-sieze.
I dont like adjusting my belts, because i know if i move a bolt it will leak. So i do timing cover too.
Its been a while since i was in there.13 years since i touched any bolts on the front of that engine.i used never-sieze.
