What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Replaced dead battery with an optima red battery. The overpriced O'Reilly lasted 2 years, 3 months.

Since I am going to put it in the trunk (when I can afford the new cables next paycheck), I wanted to move away from a lead-acid device. Got a steel battery cage so it can't escape, and a new battery tray to replace the old rusty one while it is still up front.

I figure to get the cage powdercoated red if it isn't too much, otherwise rattlecan, but I'd rather avoid that.

Replaced the fuel pump. The little ****** was spraying fuel all over the block out of the little air hole in the back side of the pump.
New pump at Oreilly was about 20 bux and I didn't have to spring for a can of GUNK! Took a 40 mile drive, and now I'm getting some awesome smileage! :steering:
No wonder why my mileage was so shitty! :wtf:

With steering, front end and brakes now all complete, I changed the gear oil in the rear end since it's been sitting up on jack stands in my shop for 17 years. Once I had that done, I put a little torsion on the new torsion bars, put on some old wheels/tires (temporary for roller status), jacked her up, pulled the jack stands and lowered her to the floor. For the first time in 17 years, she's on tires and back to "roller" status. Yea...my '73 "beaker" is now a roller. Next, I plan to roll her outside under the awning of my shop where she'll get a full steam bath before I start doing bodywork in preparation for paint. Also will be freshening up the interior as well. Progress is slow, but getting her back on tires and rolling was a huge major milestone for me today.

Loaded her up for a trip to my friends shop. Gonna use his lift to do my brakes and transmission!

Slowly plugging away at the steel repair on the passengers side. I had rebuilt the outer wheelhouse with a piece I pulled from a parts car. It was once a drag car so the inner lip was cut off. I used a piece of steel trimmed off of the replacement quarter to rebuild it. Still need to buzz down the few welds that remain from plugging the pinholes. If I am lucky I may have that side hung before Christmas.

Adjusted my ride height and torqued down my LCA Pivots. Sourcing out a fan now that I've got the rad/pulleys/clutch piece all figured out.

God I love this car!

Working on the 273 project; sanding fiberglass filler over the panel repairs on the Falcon, and getting ready for applying body filler. That's pretty much my "week/weekend" projects.

That sounds like a LOT of work!
You may have posted pics before, but let's see the Falcon?!!!!

Started welding on the mini-tubs and notched the frame for the spring relocation mounts that don't relocate springs anyway!

Just brought in all my cleaners and waxes going to get cold here soon(don't want them to freeze)..360 coming out haven't decided which direction to go with it..or stroke the 340:rolleyes::rolleyes:..nice to have choices:D:D

Started wet sanding the car, experimenting with different cutting and polishing compounds, not a pleasurable task, but the outcome is amazing.

Diced- I used to have to do that to my FE5 Cuda every couple years...lol. Loved that red laquer fade...

Whichever block you decide on, stroke if for SURE!
It's all about the torque!
