Ok, on hot days running in traffic my car will get hot, new radiator, put a clutch fan and 6 blade fan. Would like to install trans cooler. What's the best cooler to use? And I would like to locate some where out of the way and use stainless flex lines. Checked around(Summit & Jegs) can't seem to fine lines. Any one know what will fit? 67 Dart 360 crate with 727 trans

B&M Supercooler is your best bet . Coolant lines of Stainless braid can be made for you by your local Omni Services Inc. www.omniservices.com They can also supply adapters that are required to go from NPT to AN fittings . As far as engine cooling is concerned , make sure you don't have a clogged radiator or an engine block or head that is plugged with rust .

Tru-cool m7b is what I went with, works great.
I made my own lines out of 5/16" steel line using the inverted flare fittings. Exact same line used for fuel lines.

Great. Thanks, I have no issues with anything plugged or head issues everything is new, I was told its more likely to be trans and should use dedicated cooler for the trans and omit the radiator section only time I run hot is when weather is hot and sticky and when I'm in town(last year on the Cruise for Cancer)

I though about that . Should I? And where can I get one, I saw some universal ones, they look cheep

A shroud would definitely help pulling air at low speed. There's not a whole lot of options on shrouds out there. Stock rad?

get a shroud for sure, and lean out your coolant a little

Coolers work best when kept in the direct airflow. Mount it in front of the rad for the best results. Use the rad support and metal straps to mount it on the rad support, and not the plastic hold-downs to mount it through the rad. Using the straps and mounting it through the rad can lead to problems. Tru-cool are the best transmission coolers in the market IMHO. They are a true radiator design and the most efficient..

Don't forget about the heat sink styler coolers as well. You mount them under the car, out of sight, and can use push-lok fittings..

have had some heating up issues , went to napa and got a hd motor home coach type fan termo-clutch for my 7 blade fan , factory type was not enough to pull the large amount of air needed . even after i built a shroud . and on this duster we had to shorten the bell opening on it , needed more fan hanging out to throw the air off the fan .

I have had good luck with heat sink types also but you still should mount them in direct airflow. If there is no air flow it's not going to cool all that much.

Kiss, I'm going with the same setup as you. I plan on going through the radiator coming out of the drivers side port on the radiator to the cooler and then out of the cooler into the factory hard line back to the transmission. What adapters did you use and any pic's ?

Thanks Man!

Tom

If you use 5/16" fuel line (hard line) like I did, the fitting flared onto it is a 1/2-20 inverted flare. These will work for both your radiator and transmission, assuming they're stock:

GAR-48IC5X2 1/8 NPT to 1/2-20 Inverted Flare 5/16 Hard Brake Line Brass Adapt | eBay

1/8 NPT to 1/2-20 Inverted Flare Fuel Line Brass Adapter 90 Degree 5/16" Tube | eBay

1/8 NPT to 1/2-20 Inverted Flare Fuel Line Brass Adapter 45 Degree 5/16" Tube | eBay

I just used the straight one personally.
EDIT: Here's a pack of them for a great price:
5 Pack 5/16" Female Inverted Flare Tube x 1/8 NPT Male Pipe Adapter Coyote Gear | eBay

Note-- I wasn't able to bend the line all in 1 shot. I had to splice it together with a short piece of regular 5/16 fuel hose. If you run into this just use a line beading tool or put a little flare at the end of the hard line. Secure both ends together with a short piece of 5/16 fuel hose and use good tight hose clamps.

they make hose specifically for trans fluid, better than fuel hose .

Thanks!

I plan on running flexible line from the radiator to the cooler and from the cooler to the factory hard line.

I have a flare tool so I can cut the return line to the tranny then re-flare it.

In my case I'm probably gonna go steel braided, not sure if I want to use rubber (tranny fluid rated).
most braided steel lines have rubber hose inside, check . If it the other type w/ pdfe, it will melt faster than hose if laying up against headers.
