Wiring slant 6 to V8

doing a budget slant to V8 swap on my 73 Duster. 20+ years ago I did a slant to 360 swap on a 1970 Swinger. I do not think I redid any of the wiring on it. I believe I was able to make it all work. However looking at the starter wires.... the starter wire isn’t long enough for the V8 location. Did you guys make your own wire? I have leftover battery cable building a dirt car a while back. What’s everybody do for the starter/solenoid wire? Thanks for the advice.
