FOUND: Restoring a 65 Dart but had paint bubbles on back of rear Pass Fend turned out to be rust. Don't care to waste an entire repair panel for such a small patch that someone else could use. Does anyone have a parts car where this patch could be cut from? Thanks ahead. Let me know with PM at Old Dart 66

Also look closely at the trunk floor extensions. They may need some attention too. All early Darts with minor rust issues are going to have problems in the same area. I bought pieces from Arizona and ended up using the new patches because the Arizona metal had holes after it was blasted. Here's my thread. Post#10 shows the used pieces I bought. A little rust repair

Strange looking rust. Are you sure that's what that is?
Yes, Quite Sure. Wired brushed the paint bubbles, and the holes were underneath. The rest of the car is excellent....just this spot. Pretty much dismantled at this point with no rust any where else or suspected rust issues. Before I bought the car.....from Az., I looked it over pretty good, and thought the paint bubbles would insure rust underneath. Looking for the small patch rather than waste a rear quarter panel patch. Thanks for the response. Might look strange due to my old camera, but thanks for the response. Old Dart 66

Yes Toolman. I looked it over quite well before I bought the car. I suspected rust under the paint bubbles, and my suspicions turned out to be for sure.....yes, rust. The rest of the car, from Az. is clean. As you know, the trunk extensions for the early a are not available which I found out on my 66....first place I looked. Indeed, the rest of the car is nice, and I will be showing some updates on members restoration under: "65 Dart Revisited" as I owned one of these beauties back in 1971, wrecked it, and have been waiting for the time to build another. Paid $700.00 for the car back in the day, but that day is long gone. Thanks for the heads up on the rust. Best. Old Dart 66 (JJ)
