Lost my best buddy chloe

-
So sorry to hear Man, at least She had a best friend too, to comfort Her & stop the suffering at the appropriate time. Peace, and may You find a new best friend to love......

R.I.P. Cloe. Most people do not understand how we love these little rascals and they love us back. I had to put down my Dachshund this time last year. I still grieve for him.
Then a pit bull killed my other two few months later.
God it is so hard.

You were a true friend to help her in her time of greatest need, it is heart breaking to lose your companion. I know it is too early to think about this right now but maybe you could do some foster-dog-parenting, helping others to get that beautiful friendship in their lives. There is a big need for people in dog-loving households to do this.

Very sorry for your loss. Dogs are better than people. It's ok to grieve.
Yes she was so much better then alotof poeple she could talk to me and protect me

Our family condolences to our to you and your family. We're sorry for your loss.
Dogs are special. Both my wife and I are 'dog people' and lost our two "fur kids" during the past few months. I still walk in the house after work and look for them where they always were to greet us when we returned home from being out.
Always keep the good memories close to your heart. That's the way our loved ones live on with us forever until we're all able to meet again.
Chloe is now in the "land of the slow squirrels" and waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Mike....I'm am very sorry for your loss. I know how it feels, and have had to go thru the same thing with 2 of our little dogs. One we had from a day old, until 14 years old. It's tough, and you never, ever forget them. We have 2 more now, and I know I will have to make that decision again in a few years. 7 years since we lost the one that was 14, and every time I see one that looks like her, I get tears in my eyes and can't bring myself to reach down to pet the little thing for fear of losing it completely. Hang in there man! :(

Sorry to hear about Chloe, Mike!! She was well loved, and I know you're going to miss her!! Did I not meet her at the Nats a few times?? My kids and I are crazy about dogs, and try to meet as many as we can!! Most times, they're better than people!! RIP little girl!!!

I wouldn't trade the pain, for all the memories I have from my dogs. I still cry for the ones I've owned before.

Sorry to hear...I lost my boxer a month ago.He just fell over and was gone. This is the third boxer I have lost in 23 years. It sucks losing a pet they are part of the family.

It'll take time for your brain to stop going over the memories like a rush therefore bringing the intense feeling of loss back around.

Wait about 3 months at least if you'e considering another furry friend.

So sorry. My condolences. They are family members.
My little buddy yoda is 11 and after loss of my wife losing her will be super tough.
“Death creates a heart that will never heal but love creates memories
no one can ever steal”
RIP Chloe

Hi Mike.
I held off posting on this thread because I know that pain. We had a little black & tan Chi named Josie Girl that actually picked me out to be her best friend. She went everywhere with me. Driving down the road, she'd climb up and lay on my left shoulder looking out the windshield with me. She followed me everywhere I went...I mean everywhere. So much so, I had to be careful where I stepped to keep from stepping on her. If I was out in the shop working, she'd be out there laying on her blanket watching my every move. If I sat down in the easy chair, she'd have to be in my lap...no compromises. If I was on the tractor, she was in my lap. It was like she & I were one. This went on for a good 14 years till one day she had a seizure, got real sick and couldn't pull out of it. I had to make that same dreaded decision that you made. It liked to killed me to do it. It took me months, almost a year, to really get over that decision, but I didn't want my little best friend to suffer any longer, and I know I did the right thing by her. To this day, whenever I pass by her grave, I still grieve over her. Yep...it's tough, but hang in there, there are many of us that have gone thru it. Be thankful you had her as long as you did. Take care, LJ

Through my experience, eventually we go out and get another dog to replace the one we lost.
Just a friendly reminder that the shelters are full of wonderful animals looking for a second chance.
Saving one is something you will never forget, nor will the new animal you save. :)
