Diy oil changers never inspect anything. Ok most of them. Ok some garages too. Ok most garages. How many dealerships have a certified technician in the lube bay? ZERO!
You are at the mercy of a inexperienced beginner in the trade. Or worse yet the dont-give-a-shitters.
So, small shop,owner is a tech or all the guys are techs and ask if they have a service checklist. Most have some sort of checklist.
Paying 60-70 for an oil change that is no better than a dump and fill is a waste of money and a dangerous practice.

Ball joint inspections in a drive through-anybody ever jack your vehicle or ask you to turn steering wheel?doubt it. Any vehicle nudging over 60,000 should get regular inspections.
