My Autozone 3 Star Premium Leopard car cover cost a little more than the next cheaper one on the shelf. On the front left hand corner of the box, is printed "lasts up to 10 years". When I verified the "made in china" in fine print, I knew the cover's days were already numbered.

Today I had a flat tire for the third time with a rallye wheel that I just got finished painting/restoring (problem with the rim, not the tire). Pulled the car over to the concrete to remove/replace the tire after having folded the cover and placed it aside.

When I replaced the cover later, I noticed some white "dandruff" across the cover where the windshield is. It seems the outer layer is just beginning to disintegrate. I guess I made my purchase about a year ago. I was not expected a ten year life, but this is pretty poor performance (not to mention the false advertising). Just blowing off steam. This won't be news to anyone.

If you still have the reciept autozone will warranty the cover for the full 10 years.

I had a "premium" 10 year cover on my grand national,,it was good for 2 years,,,on and off every cpl weeks,,,,but after 3 years,,it basically turned to dust like an ancient scroll. It was great for 2 yrs,,soft,,pliable,,,but kinda all at once,,poof,,,it just disintegrated

This cover stays on outside day and night. If I parked it inside out of the elements, I would not need the cover in the first place. But my other completed/painted car is inside with a cover to cut down on washing/dusting (a real premium cover on the other car "Noah").

I had a rain suit that had the rubber liner inside. I wore it the first rain of the season after 9 months of hanging on a hangar and the liner came off on my black work short like millions of snowflakes. It looked terrible and i didnt get all the flecks off for days. I think it rotted when I put it away not totally dry? My car cover is about as thick as a bedsheet, and gives about the same protection..:-(

My grandfather put a cover on my Valiant before he parked it. All that was left when I went to get it out of the field was the bungee that goes around the bottom...

Covercraft... Like all high end covers, will last as long as the warranty. I figure a Benji a year ain`t too bad for good protection. Your sun may be a bit more brutal than mid atlantic.

It's not quite a show car yet. Avatar:

You get what you pay for. And car covers are no exception. I have bought two from The Cover Store. A Noah and a Ultima. So far they are holding up real well. One is 3 years old, the other 1 year old.

....................LOL These must be made by the same people who sell those "fine business" canvas carports..........

I guess I am luck then. I bought a $40 cover from Advance Auto about 10 years ago, and it is still fine. I only us it in the garage for dust, but I'm still happy with it.

What's a car cover?
lol
Honestly, i doubt that i would ever buy one, my cars are a bit junky and that's the way i like them.........
Back to the O.P., i have learned that you get what you pay for, and that's not just car covers.
Decide what brand suits your needs and shop around for the best price.
Basically, buy the best item within your budget and live with it.

The Autozone chinese "lasts up to 10 years" car cover has split open horizontally across the windshield. The funny thing now is that when I remove it, the vehicle is covered in dust. Yes, would have lasted 10 years (maybe) if I had left it inside the box it came in.

Read post #10. You really do get what you pay for. Especially when it comes to car covers.

Same here, have a gray one that came with the car a decade ago, holding up great. And bought one at Oriellys for the other car about 7 years ago, still looks brand new. But only used indoors, not in the sun.
