Hey fabo, it’s been a long time that I haven’t posted. I am currently deployed in the Middle East and since I have no bills and money I can spend I want to purchase parts now and have them waiting for when I come back. Great time to finally finish my swinger lol.

I am looking into street strip purpose for the car. I will drive it on the street as it’s not my only car. I want to purchase one trans lol, I want to get a really good trans that eventually when I build a stronger small block I can keep my trans. I want to stick with the 904 because of the weight and less power to turn vs the 727. Engine is a 318 short block with forged pistons 9.0:1 cr, 1 7/8” full length headers and will be supercharged. Rear end is a narrowed 8.8 with 3.27’s, looking to go to either a 3.55/3.73 rear ear ratio. Also Looking at either a Paxton centrifugal blower or a roots blower 671-871. Also Has anyone had experience with the torque storm brand superchargers? Have or know someone using a kit from them. One more thing, I don’t want a quiet blower, I either want the whistling, or loud obnoxious whine.

What’s your suggestions on trans? Tci 904? Ati 904 is a lot more expensive than tci, and also I’ve seen dynamic racing transmissions has a 904 as well. What’s everyone using as far as auto transmissions.

Can't comment on the others, but Tci transmissions are not much more then stock rebuilds.

First of all, thank you for your service. We appreciate you (and everyone else) there serving so that we are allowed to continue living our lives (including playing with our old cars).

Re: a trans. Even though some of the suggestions for trans businesses are excellent ones, there's no need to source out of state and pay freight. We have a couple of top notch transmission builders right here in our backyard (one in Santa Clara & one in Santa Rosa). And although they build different types of transmissions, they are both Mopar guys with a long history of building Mopar units for street/strip, full out racing, etc. If interested, PM me and we can chat more. Coincidentally, I'm heading down to Stockton next week to pick up some parts.

Turbo 400. Cheaper to build to withstand high HP levels.

...and thanks for your service.

Thank you guys, I’ll contact them when it’s business hours for them lol

Thank you sir and will do. Sending you a pm.

All of the named companies that have been mentioned are top notch companies in my book. I prefer to buy as local as I can just in case there's a problem. I don't know how far you are (when your home) from pro trans but at least their in CA

What’s the name of the trans shop in Santa Clara? I’m in need of a 904 since I just blew mine up.

Who is the Santa Rosa mopar Trans builder? I need to get in touch. Tried messaging, your inbox is full. Thanks!

I've seen numbers of 90 pounds on the 904 and 126 pounds on the 727. Also differences in 1/4 mile e.t.s of between .15 and .33 seconds by professional racers using same stall converters. When you hold a 904 fiber disc in one hand and a 727 fiber in the other you wonder if a third of a second is worth it on a mostly street car. There's a lot more profit in building 904s but a stock 727 will outlast a 904 with red eagle clutches and kevlar bands and all the goodies. Everybody agree?..okay, great!
