What do you usually do with all your old clutch pressure plates, radiator fan blades and junk pieces of exhaust pipe?? Haven't had time to paint it to look more like a sea turtle yet but that's the easy part!!!!:

I want your free time! LOL. Nice job!
I didn't take much time, all the parts are already made. I had form the pipe (neck) a little but that's the beauty of using stuff that's already made!! I used crinkle paint to make the skin look rough but I'm not much of an artist so I'll let my daughter paint to make it look more like a sea tortoise.

I sea what you did there, I am a fan.

(It is 2 puns for the price of one Tuesday........)

Yes BUT does it swim!!?????? ha
It swims great in zero gravity....LOL!! It weighs a ton, it's a 454 clutch pressure plate and Mopar fan blades (they were already bent, not usable). Next is a snail made out of the pressure plate...

Brake drum and axle from my Dart, Ram from an old truck and the water valve actually turns on the lamp.

Better than hauling it all to an iron recycling yard just to get $0.05/lb... been there done that, not gonna bother again unless I have 500+ lbs of iron and steel to dump. Heck even clean cast aluminum isn't worth s***, I spent hours to remove all the pins and rings from 16 SBM pistons and walked away from the recycler with like $10, should have built some cool piece of furniture or artwork like you did instead.

I agree,,,,I figure this these junk parts are worth 5 times as much after they've been welded together so that they look like something. I plan to set all the finished pieces up in the front yard with price tags on them.....if they sell that's great if they don't they still make the front yard look cool!!

Nice work!!
Lolol... wasn’t my handiwork. Repaired a wheelchair for an old boy and this is how he stays outa his wife’s way!!
Nice to see people getting second use out of leftovers. And nice work to you sir. Cheers

Here's the Sea Turtle painted a Gray/Silver. These are just the background colors because the majority of the turtle shell (and fins) is really colorful (Blues, Greens, Reds, etc.):

Like I said before, I'm not much of an artist so I'll let my daughter paint the shell and fins which should make it look really nice??/..........Not bad for an old worn out clutch pressure plate and a bent fan blade assy??????

Love rod art. I make stuff like that whenever I have spare parts and time. Scrap metal, electrical parts, car parts, whatever is steel that can be welded.
You guys have talent!

Lets see more!

I had another radiator fan laying on the shelf so I threw this together today. It isn't painted yet, I plan to make it look like a Yellow Jacket (Bee). That's why is has that huge stinger!!:

The pencil is there for scale, so you can tell how large it actually is (about 14 inches long). My plan is to paint it to look like a giant Yellow Jacket and attach it high on a limb of one of the trees in my front yard. When passers by notice it they'll probably run!!

It should scare the hell out of the squirrels!!

PS - Yes....that's a rocker arm (bee's face).

My wife and I are big fans of the show on AMC, "The Walking Dead" I made her this for Christmas last year. TWD fans will get it.....but for folks who don't watch it, there's a character on the show that carries a bat around...and the bats name is Lucille!
