Well I placed the cross bar much to low, sadly I had already made cuts to the floor to fit the bar. :BangHead:
I need to raise it another 3.5"

:poke: Looks like I'll be doing patch work after all :poke:

Quick update. Seems like I don't have much time to work on the Car lately... I was able to get the K-member back from the powder coating. I was also able to buy a new idler arm.. I now have everything I need for a completely new front end. Still working on the rear though....

*As it looks I should have time this weekend to work on that 4link set up... Haven't fully committed yet, I would still love to find a IRS rear out of a donor I could graft in to the rear with out too much hassle and could still run the same bolt pattern... ugh :poke::realcrazy:

Did you go around your new K member with a welder and weld it up a bit better than factory before sending if off for powdercoating.

I bolted my bare K frame into the car, then went around it with a welder, and beefed up all the seams, boxed in the power steering box brackets better and added a lower skid plate.

I fix and welded the seems, I didn't do any boxing in of the k memeber.

Soo, i had the whole weekend to play with the car and get the 4 link sorted and then i done a thing, that resulted in another thing that kept me from doing all the things i wanted to do this weekend damn it.. So more to the point I wasn't able to do anything ugh...

Really interested in the 4 link build. Im trying to convince myself not to link the rear and that the leaf springs will be fine, but after my front suspension build leafs will feel lame! Haha. Be curious to see what you end up using for spring rates

Actively Searching for XJS IRS unit for the Build... IRS with 3.54's Limited slip...
I've done the meth and I'm purdy sure I can wing it with the right amount of hack and liquid courage!

Okay... So I located a Jaguar IRS from a 1990 XJS V12, price has been negotiated and accepted. I'll be picking it up Friday afternoon!
Looking forward to this. I've dealt with units like this before as well as the BMW and Merc IRS system for track and street use, and it's really hard to argue the Cons on these vs. the Pros of a straight axle setup, for me... :poke::mob:

It's not the Dana 44, oddly they were only in the European models, The US cars got the Salisbury. Just as strong but with a drain plug :-D

Well I got to play under the car Sunday. Cleaned up underneath got the car set up and level. Then mocked up the upper cross bean needed for mounting up the jag IRS. Not sure why I didn't take pictures of that? Took a ton of measurements on both the car and the IRS rear end. Cleaned up the IRS a bit, removed the cage (not using that) Also received the adapter/spacers needed for the wheels.
I was thinking of just doing a simple solid mount to the cross beam. Then I started thinking about sound and vibration from the diff as well as from the IRS suspension. Now I'm in search for a strong poly mount setup I can adapt to the beam to hold the weight and torque from the diff housing itself.

Well I was able to sneak off to the garage for a bit and was able to get the rear crossmember built tacked and setup for check fit.
Need to clean up the frame a bit before i can slide it in. Going to check and remeasure everything before finish weld. I would like to have it at least in place before Thursday. I have to fly to Indy to freeze my *** off for the weekend... ugh
Also this weekend I was able to get the last parts needed for the front end. QA1 strut rods, Soo excited I now have a full and completely new front end for the barracuda. Maybe someday I'll be able to bolt all this crap together... It often feels like all I do is live under this car..

Soo pretty proud of myself at the moment. I got the rearend in and is perfect. Axles and wheel placement are perfect and the diff angle is spot on!
Just need to ad a few frame supports and torque rods for the rearend.
