You should be able to "ohm it out" right there. You said you have the manual? Post a photo of the switch wiring if this one is incorrect:

Don't go by the wire colors, go by the POSITION in the connector IE battery going TO switch should be 5th from the top regardless of color

This. Do not ever, under any circumstances trust the color of the wire insulation.

It's all sorted out now. Thanks guys for the help. Had to do some crazy tracing through years of hackery........lol.

Glad you are sorting it out,thats jiggery pokery when fingers touch what they not supposed to.

For sure. I'm nearly done. Ran out of light, still have no dome lights or sidemarkers but it does start, run and drive nicely. I got a little early Christmas gift today. Installed some carpet. Starting to look good for a cheap truck!
