Rear main seal started leaking, water jacket started leaking out the first hole on passenger side header, engine is eating a lifter, my oil drain pan must have caught welding slag cuz it has a dang hole in the bottom of it and float got stuck in the carb flooding raw fuel down the throat of the motor....

I swear, if it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all....

If anyone wants to come over and kick me in the nuts that may be better than working on this **** box....

No way, too cold up there.
A swift kick might take your mind off it though.:D

Sounds to me like that motor is pissed off at you, so what did you do to it?:D

Yup, not far off. Broken bolts broken wrenches, dropped new spray can of deep creep broke the tip off and had a mishap with my oil drain, over filled it,then proceeded to overfill the waste oil barrel. That was a few months ago, like a bunch of assholes orchestrating a bunch of bad pranks. Thankfully no one was around watching. Too bad no one was watching, it would have been hilarious to your average bystander.

No need, just walk down the street. I' that big buff guy walking towrds you.

Please post my reaction...

:)

Fun when they work **** when they don’t !

This should be a "It Happened To Me" forum.
My first engine build "the car in my avitar". I forgot to pull the paper plug in the oil dipstick hole on the block. and I forgot to put in the oil dip stick. When I started it it, it sucked in the paper and ruined the all bearings. The rear main leaked also the first time it was started. F****! I had it rebuilt a second time! This time a float on the carb stuck and washed out the rings!!!!! Oh Ya, the main leaked more than the first time.... OMG!!!!!!!! I found a new engine builder after I found out the guy who built this put the old rings in from the first rebuild... Time to find a new engine man...... Third time around. Hone job new rings, new bearings, new rear seal again, I 3rd new oil pump and and hand ported my third pump. Complete re-assemble from a short block for the third time. This one is holding together... Good side? I learned from this builder how to index the distrubutor so it starts immedietlay at start up. We are all human!!!!!

Do mishaps happen alot?.. maybe iam lucky. Rebuilt a 340 stroked 416 by myself.. converted auto to 4 speed.. rebuilt tranny a833. With the help of a-body only. And the only leak I have is the damn thermostat housing.. guess iam lucky

Go to Harrah's and drop a Banjamin on green, cuz your fresh out of bad luck!

Here is the BIG question. If I did come all the way to Tahoe to kick you in the nuts, would you put me up for a few days afterward so I could hit the slopes?

I don't live in Tahoe any more. I do own a home there tho. I can rent you a room.

Been thinking of air BNB, maybe I'll do an airFABO...

- - - - - - - ya gotta laugh or it'll drive you OUT of your f**king mind!! (we've all been there to some degree or other). Truth is, it's all little **** and all repairable.. and now you get to practice taking it all apart and putting it back together - AGAIN. :BangHead::BangHead: Suck it up and muster up - it ain't gonna fix itself so ya got no choice.

Just finished an aw-**** on my 68 GTS. Had a constant exhaust tic on the driver side manifold. I tightened the nut and heard a distinct crack. Threw a flashlight on the front of the manifold and I found a crack. When I pulled the manifold the front tab fell off. The front bolt tab on the driver side manifold broke all the way into the port. Those manifolds don't grow on trees. Had a new tab fusion welded but it's going to take some time to whittle it back down. In the meantime I found a set of manifolds at a reasonable price.

Just finished it off yesterday. No exhaust leaks. It's a good feeling to finally fix the problem

I understand your troubles. Soooo, I won't be coming to kick you in the nads...but to offer you a shot and a beer, maybe a cigar, and just relax and BS.

Well, that sucks! At least you didn't throw a wrench across the shop in a fit of rage and WHAM! Right into your new battery charger! DAMHIK! It never worked again! I'm usually not this cheery, but look at it this way. It's eating a lifter it has to come all the way apart anyway.
