I've been toying around with the idea of body colored steelies (with "dog dish" hubcaps) on my '71 Dart GT.

With that sad, I've been doing some research on the SBP 14" factory steel wheels, but have found conflicting information. Were the 14" SBP steel wheels available in widths of 4 1/2" and/or 5 1/2"? If they're available in both widths, what determined which width a car got?

My car has the SSBC disc brake kit on the front and the 14" X 5 1/2" factory Rallye Wheels fit with no clearance issues. Has anyone used SSBC brakes and factory 14" (either the 4 1/2" or 5 1/2" wide) steel wheels?

Any/all information is appreciated.

in 1967 to 1969 all low performance A-Body's either got 13" with 9" drums or 14x4.5 with 10" drums. All high performance A-Body's got 14x5.5 with 10" drums or front discs. In 1970 the Ralley wheel came along but the same rules applied for steel wheels until 1973 when the big bolt happened.

14"× 5.5" steel wheel will fit the same as a 14"× 5.5" Rallye wheel.

Thanks for the information HemiSSDart & Johnny Dart! I was hoping the 14" X 5 1/2" steel wheel would clear my SSBC disc brakes as the 14" X 5 1/2" Rallye Wheels do. I assume the back spacing would also be the same between the steel and the Rallye. Of course I come up with this idea a week after the annual Mopar only swap meet here in Metro-Detroit. Doh!!
