Picked up a 08 Challenger SRT8 today... I would have pics but,,,,,,,,,,:mad::icon_fU::BangHead::wtf:

Salvage title, might fix and drive, will see what it takes to get running. Maybe parts.:D

Hey, if you decide to part it I’m trying to get my hands on a new challenger gas cap and the surrounding metal to use on my 65 Valiant that I’m building. If it’s flat black; but I guess you’ll steal my idea now... :p

Took the challenger engine apart, carnage on # 8 cylinder. Ordered a new one, here this week. Block/crank are unscathed!!!

Rebuilding 5.7 from 300C I bought couple years ago. I'll get pics of that today.
 
Couple pics of fixing the 6.1 in the challenger. Waiting on lifters for the 5.7 that will replace the 6.1 in the wifes Magnum........ :)
Oh, and the carnage from hydrolock.

Believe it or not, the broken piston rod never hurt the cylinder or block. Just a mashed head on the bolt that holds the oil squirters to cool the piston skirt. The bearings were still like brand new.

Gonna need a flywheel for the 6.1, where's a good place to get one?
 
That motor sure looks clean inside (and outside), how many miles were on it? I am not an expert on flywheels but think Summit carries a few models for the 6.1
 
6.1 back together and 5.7 waiting for lifters which showed up today, just didn't have time to put in.

Hopefully putting 6.1 in Challenger this weekend. Also finishing up putting dried out carpet, etc. back in Magnum so it can be inspected. Then pull 6.1 from Magnum, put in 5.7 and make all wheel drive. Then freshen up 6.1 for the FrankenCuda!!!!!!!!!!

Collecting parts in a hurry!!! Just bought a brand new clutch/flywheel setup off ebay for 150 bucks!!!!! WWOOOOOO HHHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crap! Getting really antsy now to get the Cuda back in the shop!!
 
I wonder if all of them do that when they fail, and don`t take anything else with it ! ???

No, 07 Durango I bought cheap had # 8 take a dump and cracked the block on both sides. At that time, a few years ago, the right side piston/rod assy for a 5.7 was on national back order from Mopar. What does that tell you? :)
I am pretty sure this one busted from hydrolock.
 
Got the Challenger most of the way back together. Put my own M&M Headers on it.
Gotta get this crap done so I can work on the Cuda again. (Need the money.) :)

I know the body work on the Cuda isn't progressing AT ALL!!!:mad:
But, I am making headway on engine and parts, etc. Have a 5.7 all buttoned up to replace the 6.1 in the salvage magnum for the wifes daily driver.
Found a brand new dual disc clutch / flywheel assy from a 6.4 on evilbay for 150 bucks!!!!!! SCORE!!!!!!!!!
Found a brand new shatter proof bell housing while scrounging viper parts at my favorite salvage yard. Free. SCORE!!!!!!! It bolts right up to the Hemi.

Work is catching up and I think one of my knees is crapping out...:mad:So, this winter might be a bust as far as the Cuda goes cuz I'm gonna loose time with rehab.........:mad:

1 step forward, 2 steps back.:wtf::BangHead::bs_flag:
