Disc Brake Spindle Install

The spindles can be mounted on either side, it determines whether the calipers face the front or back.

If you’ve got a ‘70 and are using the 73+ style spindles and calipers then you want to mount the calipers to the rear if you have a sway bar. You’ll also need longer brake hoses if you do that though. If you don’t have a sway bar you can mount them to the front and use the stock hoses.

And yes, you’ll need 73+ lower ball joints. They changed before that but it’ll be easier to just use ‘73 up parts so you get the right stuff. They’ll work fine with your tie rod ends.
