I like your plan, just be sure to account for the location of the filter and filter adapter relative to the uni-body frame, it may be tighter than you think. Personally, if needed, I would notch the frame to clear rather than run the remote filter for your application. It would be cleaner. The guy I was helping was swapping the 5.7 into an already painted car and did not want to modify the car.
