I have a chance to pick up a 1983 Ram 50 2wd for $150 in pretty good shape with no motor.
I posted several months ago about maybe building one and using that 273 I have laying around and doing a turbo or twin turbo set up in it.
I think it would be a fun build and can get the body and chassis for basically nothing!
Should I or shouldn't I, hmmmm, lol

If it came with an automatic,it might be a Mopar 904 trans with a Mitsubishi bellhousing which would make it real easy to swap in a SBM/904 combo.

Cool,I always thought that would be an fun swap and a stupid fast ride with the right engine.Hope it's still there and it's worth buying.

That little rear end in that Datsun put up with our abuse behind that 215. Lord knows there's a whole bunch of Toyota rear ends getting abused by 200 horse motorcycle engines in the Dwarf Car world. Run her till she blows!

If I had the money and time (live that long) you bet your ***

Went and looked at the truck. Floors were rotted. Otherwise, a pretty straight truck with some dings that were very fixable. Grille was missing. Decided to pass on it.

Yeah. Also, the truck had no title.
The guy said that he bought a couple Jeeps off a guy and the guy said he couldn't have the Jeeps unless he took the truck as well.
Seemed kind of fishy.

Ah. Yea the no title thing would weigh into consideration a little. All that said, I bought my Duster without a title and was able to legally get one in my name.

I did take that into consideration. However, the whole Jeep story was a little strange. Not saying it was stolen, but I guess I didn't want to deal with it.

If you are in any way shape or form part of law enforcement, you shouldn't be getting shady in any way. Its not worth it and there will be other "deals"

Even if I bought it it doesn't mean I'm getting shady, lol. I would definitely do the VIN search through the state patrol and all that comes with it. I just didn't want to deal with it. :)

Yeah do it. You could just build the 273 stone stock with an Eddy 500 and have a nice little work truck that gets really decent mileage.

Nah......twin turbo it.

I didn't mean YOU would be shady...I meant its best to stay away from anything shady if you are attached to any form of law enforcement

No, you shouldn't, you have too many other project to get done.

Or I assume you do, like the rest of us car nuts.
