47RE swap (photo ID)

After some research we think the seller has miss ID’ed the transmission in his listing and after a quick conversation with Mike at COMPUSHIFT we think the transmission is the RH46 or RH47. As soon as the person who has it for sale calls me back I will find out it it is a lockup or non lockup version. Mike says to count the pins in the oval tan/beige pug. Two pins non lockup and three pins it is the lock up style.

Mike told me there is a 90 degree speedometer adaper available for this unit and he has changed his electronic speedo pickup with his kit to a more durable design that as a 1 foot flexible to where you attach your mechanical speedo cable. It give you more flexabily to avoid your hot exhaust pipes.

Even with the 90 adapter I don't think the OE speedo cable will reach, as mine was about 6 inches short and I had to get an 80 inch cable.
Hard to tell from the pics, but that may very well be the 46RH, and I can see the plug, but not enough to tell the number of pins. (3 pins is an RH lockup)
That also may very well be a diesel trans due to the 6 lugs on the converter.
All it takes to use a diesel trans is to change the governor for a gas one, and they are heavy duty as well but the converter wont fit the standard gas engine flex plate.

More trees.:D

The 42RH barely fits in the tunnel with no floor mods, but the bigger ones need more real estate.
