David A (of Damax) has always been slow to communicate—I think it's a Gary Goers situation; he's running more or less a one-man show . I have repeatedly found him worth the wait.
I sent him an email, asking if they had any on hand. He told me to check with layson's first and then get back to him if they are out of stock. Is that what you had to do?
