Watch Out For Falling Iguanas!!!

My good/close (but crazy) friend was Randy Lee. He grew up in Louisiana and was a herpetologist (snake handler/specialist). When I met Randy (then living in Texas), he had 30-40 venomous snakes in aquariums in one bedroom of his house. He had a large Python (15 Ft long) that lived in his living room (roamed freely). Randy Lee was famous as one of the few people who had been bitten by a Krait snake (sometime in the 80s) and lived. The Krait is one of the most venomous snakes in the world. When Randy was bitten he announced to his wife that he was soon to die and that it wasn't the snake's fault. Randy knew that there was no anti-venom besides he had an allergy to anti-venom so it wouldn't have done him any good, he knew that he was going to die. I say he was famous because he was on the TV series "That's Incredible". "That's Incredible" was TV series back in the 80s that told true stories about people who had been through deadly or extremely difficult situations, some FABO members might remember the show???? Fortunately for Randy there was guy in Florida (Bill Haast) who had been injecting himself with snake venom for years and had built up his natural immunities. Bill flew to Louisiana and was able to give Randy a person to person transfusion (luckily they had the same blood type). Anyway Randy and I did many crazy and dangerous things together, Randy was totally fearless (crazy fearless). Too many stories to tell and so little time....here's a website that talks about Randy and what happened after the snakebite.

Randy was the type of friend who would lay down his life for you, no foe was to big/mean for Randy. We used to go out into the country and catch birds of prey (mostly Hawks), bring them home and tame them (as best as possible). Don't try this at home, it's extremely dangerous!! The snake room was creepy to walk into, he only kept venomous snakes (except for the Python in the living room). Randy would simply open an aquarium pull out a venomous snake and try to hand it to me. I would pass most of the time, Randy would say, 'What's wrong, you chicken??". I would just make a "clucking" sound and laugh!!

Many stories you wouldn't believe!!!!
