Engine ignition wiring from scratch

I just purchased a 72 dart with a 318 and I want to wire the car just to know if the engine is any good. The only thing in the car is the distributor. What's just a real quick way to get the engine to turn over and run for a little bit to see if the motor's any good?

Points ignition?

Battery to + side of coil -> (-) side of coil to distributor.

Assuming everything in the distributor is there and in functional condition. ( A very large assumption.)

Positive battery to starter, negative to block to get it to crank and have a ground for spark.....

Still leaving out any consideration of the fuel system, but there ya go.

Thanks so much! Yes it is a points set up and it looks fairly new. Going to pick up a coil later today and test it out.
