Coming along nicely, keep up the great progress! Can you take some pics of what clearance cutting is needed to get the T56 in?

Back on it. Got a little sidetracked with work. I want to get this one going before end of summer. Got a Moser 60 with 4.10 posi, Hotchkis monoleaf springs, PST front torsion bars, US CarTool spring relocation kit and I’ve cut the floor to find a solution to installing the T-56 and retaining the torsion bars, but first I need to have my rear diff in place to determine proper driveline angle. Going to install my US CarTool box plates then the leaf springs relocater brackets then should be able to bolt up the M60.

Excellent work, I am in the home stretch with mine. Can't wait to see yours finished.

How about this for a solution for installing the T56 and keeping the torsion bars?

The concept is identical to the removable components (fabricated from the factory pieces removed) we found on Butch Leal /Direct Connection/ CaliforniaFlash built in late 1974 to facilitate transmission /clutch service between rounds.

I saw these in a Mopar Mag but cannot remember the vendor.

Another step forward. Transmission is mocked up at desired angle to begin fabrication of cross member, rear rails were notched and US Car Tool leaf spring relocation kit installed and sheet metal was cured, undercoated and painted. Rear axle and leaf springs assembled and installed. Finally sitting on the ground. Looking promising

Another step forward
Let me tell you something there buddy!

I really tip my hat off to you for not only what is becoming a beautiful car wit what I have to agree on in that it has a bad *** stance, but also that your in the body work biz, in which biz comes first and your own toys second, is a lot of time in the shop doing what you do for work and then getting it done on top of it all.

Thanks man. It really is that way unfortunately. I got to pay bills and employees first. I have an ambitious goal of driving it before the end of the year. Let's see how far I get before I push to a corner again.

Looks great! What's your wheel combo?
Haha, the wheels are off a 65 mustang restoration job I did a few years ago. The rear fits well, could be tucked in more and the fronts are actually sticking out quite a bit you just can’t tell from the angle. Not decided on what wheel combo I’m going with yet.

T-56 swap crossmember fabrication complete! I think I came up with a noble approach. It easily bolts on/off. Plus my biggest issue was increasing rigidity at the torsion bar mounts. For that I felt it was best to fab a crossmember that bridged on top of the transmission to tie it all together. I know it isn't pretty but I wanted zero flex. So now I just got to fab the floor patch and add some tabs for my center console. Oh and I really need to stop putting off the installation of the hydraulic clutch setup. I'm also plumbing my fuel lines, installing engine accessories and getting a larger core aluminum radiator so there's going to be some fabbing at the radiator support as well. I'm wondering if I could use my original fuel/vapor separator to vent my efi tank?? More Pics to come!

Coming along nicely! Who make that gas tank?
Thanks, it's from Aeromotive. It is pricier than other DIY kits from Tanksinc or others but I chose it because of the use of -AN fittings on the pump and the fact that it came pre-assembled, I have done the DIY kits and quite honestly I just wasn't in the mood for messing with it this time around.

Moving along, got fuel plumbing done, TTI Headers installed, those things are AWESOME, installed my 130 amp alternator, p/s pump and high pressure hose needed some fabbing but got it done. T56 swap is coming along too, needed 1” spacer to move release bearing collar closer towards the clutch and required minimal spacer washers to achieve a nice .154 clearance. Need to finish fabrication of trans tunnel, coat/paint and ready for final installation of trans. After that electrical, fire up and lastly interior.

I am considering purchasing a set of those Toth Performance heads. Are you happy with them? I am going to reach out to Bruce, but I wanted to ask someone who has purchased them first. Did you get them ported by chance? Any info or opinion on them would be greatly appreciated!

Though I haven't fired up the engine yet to be able to voice my opinion of their performance. but I will tell you this. The machining on these heads was excellent. Unported as cast port were very clean. I had no problems with any of the work on them. As a matter of fact my machinist whom I've worked with for many years was very reluctant to even take the job in cause of his experience with Edelbrock aluminum mopar heads, he insisted I just stick to the X-heads I had. Once he saw them he marveled at the work on them and said it was the best Mopar aluminum he had worked on. I'm happy and Bruce is second to none in my opinion.

Much appreciated Sir. Best of luck with your awesome project!
